Two hours in the Palace, at your own pace
This is the cheapest way through the door of the Houses of Parliament, and the most flexible one. You get a reserved timed entry, a host who meets you outside, and an audio handset that covers the House of Lords, the House of Commons and Westminster Hall in nine languages including British Sign Language. Nobody is waiting for you at the next room.
That flexibility is the real product. A guided visit moves at the pace of twenty people; here you can spend twenty minutes looking up at the roof of Westminster Hall and thirty seconds walking through Central Lobby, or the reverse. If the architecture is what you came for rather than the commentary, this is the better ticket.
The nine languages, and the sign-language version
The Parliament handset runs in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, British Sign Language, Welsh and Brazilian Portuguese. Very few London attractions offer a signed version at all, and almost none offer it as standard rather than on request. If English is not your first language, this listing is doing something the guided trips cannot.
Political London: the fifteen-stop walk afterwards
Your booking also includes a second audio guide, delivered through an app with a digital map, covering fifteen political landmarks outside the building. Downing Street is on it. You do this in your own time, before or after the Palace visit, and it turns a two-hour ticket into most of an afternoon if you want it to.
- Meet your host at the George V statue. Abingdon Street, opposite the Cromwell Green entrance; look for the dark blue uniform.
- Security. Airport-style screening, photo ID, and a visitor badge to wear throughout.
- Westminster Hall. Nine hundred years old and the first room on the route.
- The House of Lords. The golden throne the King opens each session from.
- The House of Commons. The chamber you know from television, smaller in person.
- Political London on the app. Fifteen stops outside, at whatever pace suits you.
Who this suits, and who should book something else
Book this if
You want inside the building without paying four times as much, you would rather set your own pace than follow a group, you need a language other than English, or you need step-free access. It is also the sensible choice for a second visit, when you already know what you want to look at.
Choose something else if
You want somebody to answer questions in the chambers. A handset describes; it does not explain. The fully guided Parliament and Abbey tour puts a Blue Badge guide beside you for the whole two hours and adds Westminster Abbey on the same booking.
Where you meet: the George V statue
Not Parliament Square. Your host waits at the statue of George V on Abingdon Street, which is the continuation of St Margaret Street heading south, directly opposite the Cromwell Green visitor entrance. They wear a dark blue uniform. Give yourself ten minutes to find it, and arrive ten minutes before your booked slot.
Know before you go
- Photo identification is compulsory. Bring a passport or national ID card; you will not get through security without it.
- The entry time is strict. This is a timed slot rather than an open ticket, so arrive ten minutes early and do not plan anything tight before it.

- No large bags, no sharp objects, no flags. The 60 by 40 centimetre limit is enforced and there is no storage on site.
- Cameras are restricted. Photography is confined to Westminster Hall, St Stephen's Hall and New Palace Yard.

Does it include Westminster Abbey?

Can I go up Big Ben with this ticket?
No. The Elizabeth Tower is a separate ticket sold only by Parliament, priced at £55 for adults, limited to ages eleven and over, and climbed on foot up 334 steps. No listed trip includes it.
