A Blue Badge guide — the highest qualification a guide can hold in Britain — takes you from the Churchill statue on Parliament Square past Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, into Westminster Abbey for the best part of two hours, then through St James's Park to the gates of Buckingham Palace. It is the most-reviewed trip on this sheet by a wide margin, and the cheapest.
Be clear about one thing before you book: this trip sees the Houses of Parliament from the outside. You stand on Parliament Square, you photograph the Elizabeth Tower, your guide explains what is behind the facade — and then you walk on. If getting inside the building is what you want, book it separately and treat this as the other half of your day.
Two ways to take the Abbey: guided, or for a service
The listing sells two versions and they are genuinely different products. The four-hour option includes skip-the-line tickets and a guided visit inside Westminster Abbey with your Blue Badge guide. The three-hour option covers the same streets but swaps the guided Abbey visit for free entry to an organ recital, evensong or mass, which you attend on your own without the guide.
The lower fare belongs to the three-hour version. If you want the Abbey explained rather than experienced, check which option you are buying at checkout, because the difference is about an hour and a half of guided commentary inside the building.
Your guide, in your language
Commentary runs in English, French, German, Italian or Spanish, with one language per departure — you pick when you book. The group caps at twenty. That combination, a Blue Badge guide and a language other than English, is unusually hard to find in Westminster and is most of the reason this trip has the review volume it does.
- Meet at the Churchill statue. Parliament Square; a second start point is offered on some departures.
- Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. Twenty minutes on the square, exterior views.
- Westminster Abbey. An hour and three-quarters inside, guided on the four-hour option.

Who this suits, and who should book something else
Book this if
It is your first morning in London, you want the whole of Westminster explained by somebody who knows it, and you would like that in French, German, Italian or Spanish. At this fare it is also the easiest way to see whether you want to come back and go inside.
Choose something else if
You want to be inside the Houses of Parliament. This trip does not enter the building. The Parliament entry ticket gets you through the door on a timed slot for a similar price, and the fully guided Parliament and Abbey tour puts a guide in both chambers with you.
Where you meet: the Churchill statue
The Sir Winston Churchill statue stands on Parliament Square, and Westminster Underground station Exit 4 puts you almost at its feet. Some departures offer a second starting point, so check your confirmation rather than assuming. Arrive ten minutes early, because latecomers and no-shows are not refunded.

- Wear proper shoes. It is a moderately paced walk of several miles with a long stretch inside the Abbey.
